Why trees?
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people and absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere.
As a new company Nu Bear want to start out on the right foot and this also includes how we plan to give back to the environment. We have already designed our packaging to include zero plastic waste, this includes the boxes for shipping, packing materials and packing tape. We are excited to give back and this will be just one of the initiatives we will be launching as part of our product launch. So when you buy a Nu Grip 4 in 1, know that you are doing your part for the environment too.
Where will the trees be planted?
Initially we would like to fund tree planting in the Amazon rainforest from our initial campaign. However we will back projects in North America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
As written about on the one tree planted website: More than 60% of Peru is covered by the Amazon rainforest. This reforestation project is home to over 10 percent of the world's bird species. The goal is to restore and protect the "buffer zone" between Tambopata National Reserve, Bahuaja-Sonene National Park, and the city of Puerto Maldonado. This area has been identified as a high risk zone for deforestation and degradation due to unsustainable agricultural practices in the region. Planting trees here will help conserve habitat for the Jaguar and hundreds of other species living in the protected areas, while providing sustainable livelihoods to the local people.
